    Boiler Water Level Controls

    This family of Boiler Water Level Controls are designed to regulate the flow of feed water into the boiler in proportion to the steam demand by using the change in boiler level as a load indicator. They consist of the following elements:

    Modulating Controller:

    The Delta Mobrey Modulating Controller is a single element electro-hydraulic control with an electronic feedback, used for controlling the flow of feed water into the boiler. Designed to be used alongside the Delta Mobrey
    Vertical Air Break Controls (VABC).

    Sequencing blowdown valves:

    The Delta Mobrey sequencing valve is designed to function as a combined water isolating valve and a sequencing blowdown valve to provide positive purging of the water connection, float chamber and steam connection of a boiler control. The operation of the valve helps to ensure the water port does not become blocked by sediment, mud or debris. It also provides a positive test of the boiler water level control, ensuring that any associated equipment, such as the feedwater pump or valve, and any alarms, cutouts or lockouts operate as expected.

    Vertical Air Break Controls

    The Delta Mobrey Vertical Air Break Controls (VABC) are a comprehensive range of magnetically operated water level controls for steam boilers. They are designed to meet all requirements for automatic on/off control of boiler feed pump, burner cut out, high and/or low level alarm or any combination of these. Models available with Industrial (NEMA4) or Marine Heads. TÜV approved models are available in chambers and for direct mounting. The Delta Mobrey VABC is a gland-less construction. A primary permanent magnet is attached to the float rod and slides vertically inside a non-magnetic stainless steel centre tube. Movements of the float are transmitted to a secondary magnet in each switch unit.

    The Delta Mobrey MSM400 system continuously measures the suspended solids within sludges or slurries.  Many years of practical experience have shown that measurement of ultrasonic attenuation in a slurry is directly proportional to the percentage of suspended solids. The MSM400 system uses this principle to give a digital display and continuous output of the suspended solids measurement.

    Commonly used in waste water treatment, industrial and mining plants and suitable for a wide range of fluids such as effluent, limestone slurry and China clay.  Applications include sludge blanket measurement and detection, and slurry density control.     Vibrating Rod Level Switch for Liquids – VLS Switch

    The Vibrating Rod Level Switch (VLS) is the perfect solution for single point level switching in free flowing solids.  For tanks, silos or hopper bins, and for a wide density range of solids from fine powders, grains to agregates. A single rod design provides the solution to tuning forks which may become blocked or bridged.

    The vibrating rod is energized and kept in resonance by an electronic circuit. When covered by material, the damping of the vibration is detected by the electronics which switch the output relay after a configurable time delay. The vibrating rod level switch is the perfect solution for single point level switching in free flowing solids across a wide density range, from fine powders to grains. A single rod design provides the solution to tuning forks which may become blocked or bridged.

    Rotating Paddle Level Switch – PLS Series

    The paddle switch may be used as either a high or low level limit switch. It is easily mounted from above, or through a vessel wall.  A small electric motor drives a paddle which rotates freely in the absence of material. When the paddle is impeded by the presence of material, a microswitch actuates an alarm signal. As soon as the paddle is completely stopped from rotating, power to the motor is cut, thereby extending motor life. After the material level falls, the motor is returned to its normal position and the paddle begins to rotate again.

    Failsafe models use a microcontroller for self-validating diagnostics and monitor both motor and shaft rotation to detect and indicate a fault condition on the fault relay.

    The PLS Series of switches can be used with granular, pelletized, and powdered dry products. They may be used in high level applications with materials over 160 kg/m3 and low or intermediate applications with materials over 80 kg/m3.

    Hydratect 2462 System

    An electronic alternative to conventional water level switches for steam raising plants. Hydratect can be used in a wide variety of situations wherever the detection of water or steam is vital for the safe and efficient operation of a plant. The Hydratect 2462 control unit provides signal processing for two electrodes. Each channel monitors the status of its associated electrode. Four conductors are used between the control unit and each electrode so it can differentiate between steam, water, short-circuit and open-circuit. A green LED indicates water, a red LED indicates steam, and an amber LED indicates a fault condition. Each channel has a status relay to indicate water or steam, and a fault relay which will de-energise on a fault condition. The two channels are completely independent having separate power supplies, signal processing and fault detection. The relay outputs can be externally wired for a ‘one out of two’ or ‘two out of two’ tripping scheme.  A Hydratect 2462 system consists of electrodes which are fitted into inserts which are welded into the pipe work. Alternatively, manifolds can be supplied to drawing with inserts already in place. Electrodes are protected by covers. A military specification high temperature cable connects each electrode to the Hydratect control unit.

    A typical application to ensure TWIP (Turbine Water Induction Protection) is condensate level detection in drain pots (condensate pots).

    Hydratect can be used to give compliance with ASME TDP-1, Prevention of Water Damage to Steam Turbines Used for Electric Power Generation: Fossil-Fuelled Plants.

    The Hydrastep 2468 is the modern day equivalent of the site glass to monitor, display and measure the output level of the water/steam interface. For use on water tube boiler steam drums and de-aerators, the Hydrastep name has become synonymous with steam drum level measurement, and through its evolution has ensured plant safety globally for more than five decades.     Analogue Level Probes – DSGE Series

    The DSGE-25/16 Hydrostatic Level Probes are designed to measure liquid levels in tanks, deep wells or narrow piezometers. The probe measures liquid levels, based on a simple relationship between the height of the liquid column and the resulting hydrostatic pressure. The pressure measurement is carried out on the level of the separating diaphragm of the immersed probe and is related to atmospheric pressure through a capillary in the cable.

    When lowered to the reference level, the probe may either hang freely on the cable or lie on the bottom of the tank. The cable with the capillary can be extended using a standard signal cable. For the cable connection a special DSG cable hanger is recommended.
