The Importance of Recycling Water

While 71% of the Earth’s surface is water, only 3% is fit for human consumption. Heavy levels of salt are too corrosive for industrial use, as well as being too high to sustain human life or farming.

Of the remaining 3%, two-thirds of this is contained in glaciers and the atmosphere. This leaves 1% shared between a global population of over 8 billion. This emphasizes the importance of managing water and its usage differently. One of the best ways to handle this is to clean it and send it for reuse.

Water is becoming an increasingly valuable commodity, and there is a frequent discussion on the subject. There are still over 7000 deaths in the US alone, and over 800,000 globally because of unsafe water.

Circular economy

One solution is to develop the water industry into a circular economy, where the water is cleaned and returned before being used again. This is the direction wastewater is heading in, and is expected to be worth $456.7 billion by 2026.

Making waste water fit for human consumption is a complicated process and one where Delta Mobrey offers solutions. We have a range of sensors to assist water treatment plants in understanding their sludge level in a sediment tank. These include our MCU200 and gap sensors, which are presently used in a variety of plants across the UK.

Alternatively, we have the ultrasonic range. These products have specific benefits in that they have no moving parts, are corrosive resistant, and are low maintenance. These can be used for pump control, tank mounting and wet wells.
