Marine Industry

Supplying the Marine Industry with durable and corrosive resistant process instrumentation

The Marine Market, is exceptionally diverse, ranging from military, to holiday cruises, to container shipments and smaller pleasure cruises. The common denominator between them is the need to keep the internal engineering and processes working to their optimal so that their primary function, be that delivery, leisure or security can be maintained without interference.

Did you know? The UK is currently one of the top countries for blue technologies. Much of this is based on the UK’s involvement in wind power, with fixed and floating wind farms. Click to see this barometer method developed by the MIT Technology Review and assesses multiple countries on their marine activity.

Process Instrumentation in the marine industry

It is imperative that the engines and systems on board all vessels remain working to their optimum and reduce possible pollutants and contamination. This is where Delta Mobrey and process implementation can assist the marine industry. We have a range of sensors, switches and transmitters to ensure that any gases or fluids essential to the smooth running of engineering systems or living quarters of marine vessels work within defined and acceptable parameters. Any fluctuations will trigger alarms so crew are alerted to any anomalies before they become problems for the vessel.

Our Products

At Delta Mobrey, we manufacture a wide range of products for measuring and reporting changes in temperature, pressure, level and flow for the marine industry.

Our products have been designed with accuracy and safety in mind, allowing you to run your fleet more safely and more efficiently.

Our instrument specialists can help you with the selection process and provide the support, advice, and fast response that you need.

Product Focus

Delta Mobrey MCU200 Controller
There are products specifically designed to detect oil in water; the Delta Mobrey M442SD and the Delta Mobrey 402SD combined with the Delta Mobrey MCU200 Controller. The combination of these products creates an electronic system to protect marine boilers, by ensuring the boiler feedwater is not contaminated with oil.

This type of contamination frequently occurs as condensing steam runs through the ship’s systems before being returned to the boiler. Any leaks may cause oil to enter the circulating condensate and can result in serious boiler damage by overheating. This could result in reduced water flow and heat transfer.

To prevent this Mobrey 442SD sensors are installed across the feed-water pipelines, while Mobrey 402SD sensors are designed for installation within the vessel’s tanks, connected to the feed-water pipework. The sensors detect the presence of the oil and signal an alarm via the Mobrey MCU200 Controller. A ship’s crew is then aware of the problem, and can investigate before any substantial damage is done.
